claim to know them all. The reason I tell you this is if anything as to not take the credit for this particular cocktail. They where a married couple who where both former Air Force Officers. They were a lot of fun and they had a lot of great stories from their adventures in booze-ology. Including telling me quite a bit about the Makers Mark distillery. Even better they left me a generous tip, and gave me a cocktail called
Blood and Sand for that I will dedicate this post to them (they know who they are... I hope.)
Blood &
Sand
1 part - Scotch Whiskey
1 part - Sweet Vermouth
1 part - Cherry Brandy (or Cherry Ciafa)
1 part - Orange Juice
2 dashes - Lemon bitters
Shake over ice and strain into a martini glass
Garnish with a flat slice of orange peel
Twist for oils and rub rim before dropping in the glass
Drop in 1 cherry
Dash with bitters
