Thoughts, stories, ideas, recipes, cheers, and more... What else did you think you would get for a $1 tip?

For those of you looking for something on the more sophisticated side you have my apologies. This blog unfortunately mirrors the author (yours truly.) Some of the humor is not for everyone but I liked it and it's my blog so there! My patrons sometimes ask me where I come up with some of this stuff. I am glad to tell them my mind is a lot like Canada. It is sometimes a bit cold, there are a few dark corners, some of it down right confusing and even a bit dirty but there is also a lot of neat stuff up there. So I hope you all enjoy this blog! ... Cheers!

Pressed for Time, Don't Forget your Mother, Post Cinco de Mayo and The Kentucky Derby

This week has been NUTS! If I had hair this would be the week I would pull it out for sure. Luckily for me I have dodged that bullet and took preemptive measures by just shaving it all off. I don't have a ton of time today however with it being Friday and all I wanted to get my weekend specials out there and just my general 2 cents worth. This weekend definitely has potential to be great. I mean there is the Post Cinco de Mayo group that have jobs etc so they are not permitted to imbibe on Thursday but will certainly celebrate the Mexican holiday a day late. There is the Kentucky Derby and plenty of people will stop and grab a beverage while making a side bet on the ponies. Then of course there is Mothers Day on Sunday. If you forget to do something special for your mother well let's face it your are a bad seed and you should burn in hell... I mean the poor woman suffered through 9 hours of labor uphill in the blizzard and you had a huge head! I digress... So here are a few special drinks to celebrate the days ahead. May they all be sunny and maybe even profitable.

Friday - Post Cinco de Mayo Party: The Classic Margarita
2 oz. - Tequila of your choice
(make it a good tequila or else
tomorrow you could wind up hugging a cactus.)

1 oz. - Cointreau
Splash of OJ
Splash of Lime juice
Serve in a frosty mug or margarita glass with salt or sugar on the rim

Jose's Corona

1 bottle of Corona or Corona Light
1 shot of tequila
Pour into a frosty mug with a squeeze of lime.

Saturday - The Kentucky Derby: Peach Mint Julep
In a rocks or julep cup
2 oz. - Kentucky Burbon
1 Tablespoon - Mint Simple Syrup (Simple Syrup infused w/ a few mint leaves)
1 oz. - Peach juice
Stir Rapidly with a spoon in order to frost the outside of the glass
Garnish with a fresh mint leaf

Sunday - Mothers Day: Limonchello Sparkle
Serve in a champagne flute
1 oz - Limonchello
Fill glass with Champagne
(Don't use the cheap stuff this is your mother for Christ sake!)
Garnish with a lemon twist
Rim the glass with lemon sugar

Now give her a nice smooch on the cheek and tell the grand old broad you love her!
Good Boy!

Cheers!
