Thoughts, stories, ideas, recipes, cheers, and more... What else did you think you would get for a $1 tip?

For those of you looking for something on the more sophisticated side you have my apologies. This blog unfortunately mirrors the author (yours truly.) Some of the humor is not for everyone but I liked it and it's my blog so there! My patrons sometimes ask me where I come up with some of this stuff. I am glad to tell them my mind is a lot like Canada. It is sometimes a bit cold, there are a few dark corners, some of it down right confusing and even a bit dirty but there is also a lot of neat stuff up there. So I hope you all enjoy this blog! ... Cheers!

A Sangria By Any Other Name

Summer has officially been consuming me! I am very sorry I haven't blogged in sometime now but I'm still here and now I am back on the blog... With all this said I was talking to a friend of mine who has a love for summertime sangria. I have to admit a good sangria is light and sweet and a great summer drink either on the beach or just after a long day in the hot sun. Here are a few good recipes for a batch of those summer sangria's.

1 Bottle - White Table Wine
1 Bottle - Mango juice
1/2 Bottle - Pineapple Rum
2 cans - Pineapple chunks in juice
2 Limes sliced
Splash with soda water to make a spritzer
Serve in a large wine glass over ice

Ruby Red & Pear Sangria

Fruity Yet Plucky!

Most of the drinks I do turn out to be on the sweeter side of life. This is not so much by design it just happened over time. Must be something about the bartender... That aside I am constantly asked for something a little less sweet but still tasty. As my friend Shawn would say after taking a sip, "fruity yet plucky!" I think this is his way of saying it has some good taste but not overly sweet. In order to decode this you must know Shawn and quite frankly I don't have the room on this blog nor the qualified doctoral experience to do that, God love him! So in this vain I offer you a couple drinks that fit the fruity yet plucky bill.

The Berry Beachcomber
2/3 Sprigs of mint
2 slices of Fresh Lime
2/3 Table Spoons of Fresh Berries
(Your choice just not strawberries so Go crazy! )
Muddle this and then fill with ice
2 oz. - Gin
1/2 oz. - St Germain
Splash of Cranberry juice
Fill with Soda water

Agave Blossom
2 oz. - Agave Tequila
1 oz. - Grapefruit juice
1/2 oz. - Triple Sec
Juice of 1/2 a fresh lemon
Splash of Pomegranate juice
Shake and strain or serve on the rocks

No idea who this chick is but she looks happy with her drink!

Cheers!
