Thoughts, stories, ideas, recipes, cheers, and more... What else did you think you would get for a $1 tip?

For those of you looking for something on the more sophisticated side you have my apologies. This blog unfortunately mirrors the author (yours truly.) Some of the humor is not for everyone but I liked it and it's my blog so there! My patrons sometimes ask me where I come up with some of this stuff. I am glad to tell them my mind is a lot like Canada. It is sometimes a bit cold, there are a few dark corners, some of it down right confusing and even a bit dirty but there is also a lot of neat stuff up there. So I hope you all enjoy this blog! ... Cheers!

Christmas Already??!!

Holy crap and jingle bells! It is seriously almost Christmas! Yes that's right I said Christmas. For those of you who want me to say happy holidays... Suck it! Seriously I grew up with Santa Clause and Rudolph if you celebrate any other holiday I ain't mad at you but by all means don't pee on my parade. I like Bing Crosby, Karen Carpenter and Natalie Cole singing my Christmas carols and further more I LOVE having a tree in my house! How it all ties into the birth of Christ who knows really the same way chocolate eggs and a giant rabbit are the symbol for when he rises from the grave I guess. The bottom line here is I do like Christmas and all it's shiny lights, presents, stress, alcoholism with friends and family, $10 Yankee swap gifts, ugly sweaters and terrible ties, the opportunity to refresh my sock and underwear drawer, opening 1 gift Christmas Eve and the rest the following morning and getting completely sick of the family in your home by 4pm until the next big holiday.

Yes Christmas is here and I have been a slack bastard when it comes to writing here in this blog. In my defense I didn't have a computer for almost a week because some viruses where found on my hard drive from only God knows what internet porn site were visited for the past 2 years. Then there is the stress of having to find the time and energy to find the perfect gift and the wrapping and parties and the list of excuses could go on and on...

I had every intention of doing a "12 Cocktails of Christmas" theme for the better part of the month but again that just didn't happen and much like my high school and college career I am now down to the final days before the big day of judgement. Was I naughty or nice? And here I have to cram. So cram I will! Sunshine and Snowdays

I haven't been posting because quite frankly I am having a bit of trouble finding inspiration. The holiday's are well on their way but up here in Maine the snow is nowhere to be found. The last real snow we had was an untimely storm just prior to Halloween.

I watched Charlie Brown Christmas on TV already for Christ sake! (Side note watch when all the kids are dancing for the Christmas play. Good stuff!) Still I have yet to make the transition from shorts to full length pants. For the past week it has been 50 degrees in the morning. So it isn't ultra warm but at the same time it isn't cold either. Where typically reaching mid-December I would already be sporting the Nanook of the North winter line of clothing. I bought new gloves, hat and jacket in anticipation of the ski season but instead I should have saved my money and thought more about flip-flops.

Seeing as the weather is in this sort of not too warm not too cold holding pattern should I too go for the in-between option and rock capri pants? That just doesn't seem to manly. I mean then I'm just a "European carry-all" (purse) away from owning skin products and going the way of the metro-sexual or a job at Abercrombie & Fitch. Seeing as I like my current sexual identity I think I will steer clear of that fashion no-no.

I think for now I will pray for the weather gods to make up their minds. I will do my best to angle my thoughts to a holly jolly holiday and by all means hope it snows, hope it snows, hope it snows. In order to give me another subject to direct my whit and sarcasm towards. However being things as they are I will give you this little concoction I mixed up the other night.

The Swiss Sunshine Martini came from my thoughts of ski season and how much snow they are probably seeing now in the Swiss Alps, my recent love affair with St. Germain (the elder flower liqueur not the patron saint of the Jackson 5) mixed with the Florida sunshine that we are seeing here in the Northeast currently. So have grab your sunscreen and your winter hat a few sips of this sweet little cocktail and practice writing your name in the the grass for when the snow finally falls.

The Swiss Sunshine Cocktail
2 oz. - Vanilla Vodka
.5 oz. - St. Germain
Fill with O.J.
Mix and serve over ice or straight up.Top with a dash of grenadine

Cheers!
Some guys can pee their name in the snow. Chuck Norris can pee his name in concrete!
